Students must complete 12 units to gain the Certificate III in Business Administration
Administration Units
You must complete a minimum of 5 units from the Specialist Administration units:BSBADM304A – Design and develop text documents
The unit covers design and development of predominantly text-based documents using advanced features of document design software.
This unit covers the creation of simple data tables, forms, reports and queries to create a simple database that is used for storage and retrieval of information.
BSBADM306A – Create electronic presentations
This unit covers the design of electronic presentations for speakers, self-access and on-line access.
BSBADM307A – Organise schedules
This unit covers managing appointments and diaries for personnel within the organisation, using both manual and electronic diary/appointment systems.
BSBADM308A – Process payroll
This unit covers processing of payroll from provided data in manual or computerised payroll systems.
This unit covers maintenance of accounts payable and accounts receivable records, processing of payments to creditors, and handling overdue accounts receivable.
BSBADM310A – Maintain a general ledger
This unit covers preparing a general journal, posting journal entries to the general ledger and preparing a trial balance.
Business Services Units
You must complete 3 units from the following common business units listed below (including Maintain Workplace Safety):BSBCMN311A – Maintain workplace safety (compulsory)
This unit is concerned with OHS responsibilities of employees with supervisory responsibilities to implement and monitor the organisation's Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures and programs in a small team to meet legislative requirements.
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to identify customers' needs and monitor a service provided to customers.
BSBCMN301A – Exercise initiative in a business environment
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to exercise initiative and influence others in a business environment. It includes making decisions in accordance with organisational requirements.
BSBCMN302A – Organise personal work priorities and development
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to organise own work schedules, monitor and obtain feedback on work performance, and maintain required levels of competence.
BSBCMN304A – Contribute to personal skills, development and learning
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to support own learning and skill development needs in the context of an organisation's goals and objectives.
BSBCMN305A – Organise workplace information
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to gather, organise and apply workplace information in the context of an organisation's work processes and information management systems.
BSBCMN307A – Maintain business resources
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to determine, administer and maintain resources and equipment to complete a variety of tasks.
Other Business Services Training Units
You must complete 4 units from the business services training package units or any other endorsed training package, minimum of 2 units from a Certificate III qualification and 2 units from a Certificate II or Certificate IV qualification:BSBCMN213A – Produce simple word processing documents(Certificate II)
This unit covers preparation and production of short routine letters, notes, memos and records using word processing software.
This unit covers creating and using simple spreadsheets and charts through the use of spreadsheet software.
BSBMED301A – Use advanced medical terminology
This unit covers understanding and responding to instructions, carrying out routine tasks and communicating with a range of internal/external clients in a Medical Office, using appropriate advanced medical terminology.
BSBMED302A – Prepare and process medical accounts
This unit covers providing advice to patients regarding fee structures, processing referrals, and preparing and processing medical accounts for a range of patients.
BSBADM303A – Produce text from audio transcription
This unit covers transcribing audio tapes and producing accurate texts from the transcriptions.
