The Brisbane Transit Centre in Roma Street is Brisbane’s major train station. Travelling long distances by train is generally more expensive and a little slower than going by bus however it can be more comfortable. Trains and buses depart from this station for other towns in Queensland and other cities inter-state.

The free Loop Bus stops at many of the places you'll want to get to, including Queen Street Mall, Botanic Gardens, Government House, Central Station and universities. Alternatively, you can take the more expensive City Sights Tourist Bus Tour (a 'hop-on/hop-off' service) with air-conditioning and audio commentary.
Air: Brisbane Airport is located about 16 kilometres from the city which takes 20 to 30 minutes drive by car. An Air Train services both International and Domestic Airports and runs every 15 minutes.
Train: The Brisbane Transit Centre in Roma Street houses Brisbane's major train station. Travelling by train is generally more expensive and a little slower than going by bus, but it can be much more comfortable. Queensland Rail runs services to Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and Bundaberg.
Bus: Buses to Melbourne (24 hours), Sydney (17 hours), Cairns (27 hours), Adelaide (32 hours) and most places in between leave from the Roma Street complex.
