International Students
Visas
You need a Student Visa if you wish to study in Australia for more than 12 weeks. If your total stay will be 12 weeks or less you may apply for a Short Stay Visa.
To be granted a Student Visa you will need to:
- View the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMA) website, www.immi.gov.au, to ensure you satisfy the requirements to qualify for a Student Visa
- Apply to enrol into a Brisbane Commercial College course
- Pay the course fees, in order to receive your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE)
- Complete the relevant sections of the Visa Application Form and lodge it, along with an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE), any supporting documentation and payment of the visa application fee.
- The Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) will process your visa application and grant your visa (if your application is successful).
Depending on your nationality, you may have to undergo a Pre-Visa Assessment (PVA) before an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) is issued. If you are required to undergo a PVA you will need to provide a ‘Letter of Offer’ from Brisbane Commercial College .
Usually an international student is issued with a Multiple Entry Visa for the duration of their study course in Australia.
NB: Australia immigration laws are subject to change. For the most current information, regarding visas, please check the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) website: www.immi.gov.au
We can refer students to the relevant organisations if further assistance with visa renewal is required.
